Considering that this is a relatively new forum, this is a few days late to the essence dropping. However, I figured that there's no better way to break the bottle over our new forum then by talking about our most recent essence opening!
What do we think of the essence now that it's out? I ended up whaling for it, unfortunately for my wallet. But as tends to be the case, Vera ended up being far prettier in game then she was in her promotional image, and I care about this png very, very dearly. Fortunately, she came home before pity (140, which I personally don't think is horrible).
The a tiers did spend the entire time fucking with me though. In one of my pulls, I pulled both of them almost next to one another 
Hopefully she came home easily for you, if you wanted her. And if you're still trying to get her - God speed, solder.

sangria's a-tier is genuinely gorgeous... i keep thinking about her T.T i'm in looooove it's all i could've wanted for her first a skin. it's one of those skins that makes me want to pick up playing the character they're for just so i can see her in-game. i think it's def my favorite essence this season overall!! the designs Really appeal to me + i also really love vera and murro's skins too. they really went all out with the designs here

the color diversity in this essence really does speak to me and it help detract from the idea that this is just another royalty essence
it's not my go-to personally, but i gotta admit that murro and sangria both rock this theme. murro especially, it's good to see my guy getting some love that he desperately needs. im not whaling but if i can't decide on who to get with the recent A tier unlock? i might go for him

Even the essences I haven't been the biggest fan of (CoA) are strictly for like. Aesthetic preferences rather than feeling that the theme has been particularly over done or under-designed. I feel like we spent a while with this game where the designs were pretty, but not overall unique, and it feels like we've entered a new era with skin designs. The fact that people are actively disliking some of these essences rather than passively being alright with them is a good sign, because it means the designs are strong enough and unique enough TO dislike. I really, really enjoy that they're no longer being as "safe" with the designs, so to say.
We had a little baby hiccup by bringing back those silly pants with Matthias' S tier (Which - I do know what they were going for with it. They wanted to emulate the shape of a chess piece, I think), but I can live with it if only because both Lily and Ithaqua were so strong. I liked Lily's S tier so much that I whaled for her, and I somehow Like this A tier more then I liked that S??

I think that this is one of Murro's best skins, and certainly the best skin you can get without Dubious Black Market Skin Trading meathods.
If I had to be a TINY hater, I do with they'd picked a different silhouette for Vera's dress. I am very, very glad they didn't go for the same sillohette as her shop s tiers, but I also don't think her shop s tier silhouette's should feel stronger then her limited S skin's. But also, thats with acknowledgement that this IS a cultural themed essence, and theres only so much they can do before it falls into disrespectful territory.
I think if they end up optimizing it, they're probably add some frills or bounce under her dress, and give her a few more accessories.
But also. Lmao. I DID spend money on this essence, so none of this is coming from a place of sincere hatred or annoyance. I liked it enough to get it, afterall.

Murro and Sangria both have very beautiful skins I think, it’s very tempting to try and get them just because I think they’re the best skins for the characters right now. Luckily I’m able to hold back because they’re both characters I do not like playing. I ended up liking Sangrias in game a lot more than I thought I would. Vera still doesn’t scream ‘s tier’ to me though. It’s a very pretty skin don’t get me wrong, but I do want a little more pizazz if I’m going to whale for a S tier. I’m glad that you were able to get it though Red  I think the problem is Vera has so many pretty skins I don’t feel like I NEED to get this one because there’s so many others. Kinda in the same boat with Fiona or Patty, I have more skins then I can use with those two. |

I love the new essence! I also think that it reflects the inspiration for it so so well - like Robo mentioned as much as i love veras s tier, sadly my problem is that i already have so many skins for her that i love using, and on top of that funds are low so i have to make do without getting her this time around... oh well, maybe next time hey :3
But i also do personally feel that these sets of skins are part of a larger, more promising look into the future of essences and IDV designing different things beyond the red black white blue gold (or whatever colour) royalty essences. I may be very very biased, and also im a new player, but Morningstar was the only one of those i enjoyed and felt made a lot of sense. Other than that... even seeing some of the older ones im not a fan? Idk what it is. Probably bias.
But these skins look genuinely much stronger than the things that have been recently put out by IDV. This, along with COA 7, have shown a much needed improvement in their costume design.
Im actually pretty excited for the future as a result!
